Magnetic Field Strength

Definition
Magnetic field strength can be used in two different contexts. In the more general definition, magnetic field strength simply refers to the magnitude of the magnetic field at a point. Another use of the term, however, is to designate magnetic field strength as the component of the magnetic field due solely to external electric currents, independent of a material's magnetic response.
