About

Formula Database was started by a small group of mathematics, physics, and engineering students at UW-Madison. Part research, part personal interest, this websites goal is to describe and organize all formulas, theorems, and models generally accepted by the scientific community.

The underlying architecture of the site is rooted in the principles of category and set theory. A formula is simply the symbolic description of how different sets are related. We have started generating a database of these mathematical objects as well as their common semantic representations.

All formulas and theorems in the database are further organized in a hierarchical logic space. In this way, you can travel through the logical progression of where a formula came from and what connections it has with the rest of physical and abstract world.
